Staff facilities

We are committed to our staff and we try to show the whole team how much we value them. The staff facilities comprise educational, training, health and leisure opportunities, as well as additional eating arrangements to the Staff Dining Room which also offers a staff computer with internet access.

The Staff Resource Centre, away from all of the noise and bustle of the Home, is available for team members to study for NVQs or other qualifications and the First Aid Room provides staff with a comfortable environment for staff to rest if they feel unwell. The Games Room  is equipped with an American pool table, bar football and table tennis for staff to enjoy.

Nightingale’s gym is a fully equipped members only club, open to all staff. Before joining, each team member benefits from a full assessment with our Health & Fitness Advisor.

There are male and female changing rooms adjacent to the gym, which can of course be used for those who cycle to work or run during their break.

There are two staff lounges, each equipped with very comfortable armchairs and sofas, coffee tables and TV facilities. These rooms are open at all times. The meeting and training room is equipped with the latest audio-visual systems which operate with videos, DVDs or computer presentations. Comfortable chairs fitted with writing tables help to take the strain out of the longer training and briefing sessions!

Staff are entitled to apply to join a contributory pension scheme after a qualifying period and season ticket loans are also available for those individuals who travel into work by public transport.

The Brubeck Eatery is a pleasant and welcoming dining room, leading to an open plan kitchenette area equipped with kettles, microwave ovens, crockery, cutlery, mugs, refrigerators and a water chiller. In order to preserve Jewish traditions and cultures within the rest of Nightingale it is essential that users understand that non-Kosher food can only be brought into this  facility and not any other part of the Home. This facility is open 24/7 except during the Festival of Passover when it is closed.
