New Voices

Nightingale’s residents benefit directly from the involvement of volunteers in their everyday activity. As an organisation with significant volunteer involvement, we are committed to supporting all our volunteers to reach their full potential and are always on the look out for new talents and skills

.

Commencing October 2011 our New Voices scheme will allow young volunteers (aged 16 to 25) to gain valuable practical experience in a care home environment. In return for 48 hours of voluntary service   Nightingale will provide you with specific training on areas desirable to health and social care organisations; communication skillsperson centred care and dementia awareness. You will author a reflective log of your experiences and receive active supervision to support you in your role.

Participants who successfully complete the volunteering service will be celebrated with a chance to make a presentation to their peers and the residents on their experiences before being formally acknowledged in the New Voices awards ceremony.

New Voices at a glance;

  • Open to new and existing Nightingale volunteers between the ages of 16 and 25.
