Payroll giving or 'give as you earn' is a valuable source of income for Nightingale. As well as being one of the easiest ways to give to charity, it's tax-free if you are a UK taxpayer.

How it works

Individuals give to their favourite charity direct from their pay.
The key benefit of payroll giving is that your contributions are deducted before tax. So if you are giving £10 a month, this will mean only £7.70 is deducted from your take-home pay.
For higher rate taxpayers, donations cost even less and there could not be a better time to join as the government has just launched a promotional campaign on payroll giving - they will now add a further 10 per cent on donations.
Anyone can join if their pay or pension is taxed through PAYE.
