The Wohl Wing

Here at Nightingale, we recognise the symptoms of dementia and we understand how to deal with them. Our dementia strategy focuses on improving the quality of life for every resident, from the moment they arrive and for the rest of their lives.

In September 2011 we opened a purpose-built state-of-the-art dementia unit containing specialist design features. Research has shown that the built environment has a huge impact on the quality of life for dementia sufferers. Our new wing includes a reminiscence kitchen on each floor, extensive common areas for relaxation and activities and suitable colours/design features to encourage independence and reduced anxiety.

We are also committed to a person centred model of care and have commenced a major training programme with the acclaimed Dementia Department of Bradford University to ensure that all of our staff have been trained in the very latest thinking in person centred care.

Our Residents Services Department is on hand to advise and assist and  please contact Lorraine Cardozo  on 020 8673 3495 or  email residentsservices@nightingale.org.uk
