Nursing care

Our nursing and dementia units are staffed nurses and care assistants 24 hours a day. Our nursing residents are more dependent than those in the residential units.    We have specialist equipment such as hoists and our staff are able to meet a wide range of nursing needs.

As part of our commitment to the continued care of our residents and our promise to care for them for the rest of their lives, we have just achieved Beacon status  accreditation of the nationally recognized Gold Standard Framework (GSF) in relation to end of life care.     In addition, each year, members of staff update their training in palliative and end of life care, to better equip them to deal with this difficult time and be able to fully support residents and their families.

We have a successful partnership with Chai Cancer Care which now runs its cancer support services and therapies from Nightingale for the South London Jewish community, their families and friends.

We are also committed to a person centred model of care and have  embarked on a major training programme with the acclaimed Dementia Department of the University of Bradford to ensure that all of our staff have been trained in the very latest thinking in person centred care.

If you would like further information or would like to discuss care needs, please contact Lorraine Cardozo in our Residents Services Department on 020 8673 3495  or email residentsservices@nightingale.org.uk
